Give the Gift of Shelter
Give the gift of shelter this holiday season. Invest in Samaritan House and be a critical resource for people experiencing homelessness in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.
Samaritan House has worked tirelessly since 1993 to support people experiencing homelessness in our area. With community support, we have kept our neighbors warm, fed, and safe.
In yet another example of our community coming together to support our neighbors, CVOEO assumed operations of Samaritan House and Tim’s House this summer. And thanks to this change, our primary shelter, Tim’s House, will soon undergo a large renovation to create private bedrooms, allowing more comfort and dignity for guests on their journey to permanent housing. The enhanced environment and strong case management services will help even more people stabilize and move more quickly into transitional and permanent housing.
We are proud of what we have accomplished as an organization and as a community, but with the compounding challenges in our area, we need your support now more than ever.
There are currently an estimated 200 people — in some 130 households — who are experiencing homelessness in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties, and we fear that this number will only rise.
Samaritan House is anticipating this need. In addition to Tim’s House and its services, Samaritan House strives to serve all those in our community. For example, people without a stable home are encouraged to visit us during business hours to take a hot shower or do a load of laundry. We also connect community members with other CVOEO programs and local service providers who may be able to offer further assistance.
We cannot do this work alone. Join us and give the gift of shelter, safety, and support this holiday season.
