Make a gift to support our most vulnerable immigrant families

Every year, we host Karibu, an international fashion show.

Karibu, which means Welcome in Swahili, is a fun way to celebrate the cultural diversity of the New American community in the Burlington area while raising funds to contribute to an emergency funds for asylum seekers, our most vulnerable immigrant community.

At CVOEO, we donate our staff time to support them in the process of making Vermont their home. You provide the funds for monthly stipends.

  • $15 – Can provide a 10-ride bus pass
  • $25 – Can provide basic toiletries for personal hygiene
  • $50 – Can provide needed medicine
  • $100 – Can provide a co-pay at the doctor’s office

Funds raised from Karibu support our services for the most vulnerable immigrant families in Vermont, many of whom do not have health insurance and certainly not the income to cover even simple medical costs. We provide them with monthly stipends to cover medicine, personal hygiene products, co-pays, and bus passes to get to necessary appointments and interviews.
