Holiday Campaign for NorthWest Family Foods

Help us provide food to our neighbors facing hunger in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. Your support sustains NorthWest Family Foods as a resource for our community.

Did you know that two out of every five Vermonters experiences food insecurity? Indeed, these are difficult financial times for many as food prices are up 10 percent and the overall cost of living has increased almost 9 percent over the past year.

Due to these compounding challenges, NorthWest Family Foods is experiencing a steady increase in households visiting our food shelf. Last month alone we served 972 households, a total of 1,812 individuals. We are the largest food shelf in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties and the only one that is open 5 days a week. Many of the people seeking our support are vulnerable, including families with children, the elderly, or individuals with a disability.

I am a disabled veteran supporting a family of four. Having the food shelf has been an unbelievable help in feeding my family and helping to make ends meet.

With an unclear economic outlook, NorthWest Family Foods wants to be ready to meet the need of our community. In a normal year, it costs us over $293,000 to operate the food shelf, and we rely heavily on donations from our community to make this service available.

The food shelf is a blessing to my household and I am so grateful it is available.

Join us now to help NorthWest Family Foods remain a valuable resource for our neighbors. Together, we can ensure that no one goes hungry in our community.
